Kanyenda off to join Rivaldo at Angolan side

Flames striker Essau Black Mamba Kanyenda on Thursday left the country for South Africa to join Angolan top flight League out-fit Kabuscorp FC.

The Angolan side recently roped in Brazilian World Cup winner and FIFA World Player of the Year Rivaldo.

Kanyenda, who was with the Flames in camp in readiness of the Chad game this month end in the African Cup of Nations qualifiers match left through Kamuzu International Airport.

The former Russian Kamaz FC versatile striker told Nyasa Timeson departure: “I am going to South Africa where the team is going on a pre-season tour.

“I am expected to study the contract before putting pen to paper,” said Kanyenda, who is one of Flames reliable
strikers.

Kanyenda said that the deal was being facilitated by his manager Alex Bondarenko.

The Flames striker returned home from his Russian side FC Kamaz following the expiry of his contract.

Since then, the player has been looking for another window of opportunity and was also tipped to move to a South African club.

Before the expiry of his contract at Kamaz, the player was blocked by the club from joining South Africa’s Morroka Swallows.

Recently, the player has been training with a local club Silver Strikers who are the current champions of the top flight Malawian League TNM Super League to maintain his form.

Kamwendo back

Meanwhile, Mighty Wanderers and Flames skilful midfielder Joseph ‘Shakira’ Kamwendo returned home last weekend after attending trials in Thailand.

Kamwendo, who did not put pen to paper, told the media that there was no need to rush.

“I told them if they want my services they will call me because it seems discussions were erupted since my visa expired,” said Kamwendo.
