Ndovie, who won on independent ticket, made the announcement at a rally the party’s National Director of Logistics, Symon Vuwa Kaunda organised in Karonga on Tuesday.

The Karonga Nyungwe legislator told reporters that his constituents advised him to join the ruling party for the area to have meaningful development.

He said even during his campaign, he already told his constituents that he would join any party that would be ushered into government.

“I am happy that today I have been officially welcomed by DPP officials in the north including the Minister.

“I promise to support the party and the DPP-led Government for the benefit of the people in my area,” he said.

Ndovie said time for politicking was over and called on the people to bury their differences and start working together on development projects that government is implementing in the area.

In his remarks, Symon Vuwa Kaunda, who is also Minister of Lands, Housing and Urban Development, said the decision made by Ndovie to join DPP was a clear testimony the party has sound policies aimed at improving people’s living standards in the country.

Kaunda then called on other people willing to join DPP to do so, saying it is the only party in the country that has the welfare of the people at heart.

During the rally, ward councillors that attended the function also pledged support to the ruling DPP Government.

  1. Section 30 of the Republican Constitution is about “Right to Development” sub section 1 says that: “All persons and peoples have a right to development right and therefore to the enjoyment of economic, social, cultural and political development……” It doesnt say development will be given to those in support of the ruling party. So dont manipulate people`s mind with your elusive and myopic thinking. How can an educated MP like you think and sink so low in this era.

    1. This Ndovi man has sold his dignity, he will regret it. He definitely doesn’t understand the fact that the political landscape will very soon be changing in Malawi, unfortunately he is joining a sinking party

  2. it will be short lived! it is very clear that he has’nt been following the ConCourt proceeding. Any body with good sense would not be joining DPP at this time

  3. Vuto ndi ndalama zija amapangila campaign zinali za ngongole eniake akuzivuna so dpp ikugula ma independent wa once they joined them chisaka chodzadza ma pepala olembedwa 2000 musovenge ovota rumphi central constituency so inapita ku dpp nkhani zake zomwezi katapila

    1. Indeed this nonsense has been said more than enough now by greedy Mps. Who are these greedy mps cheating when they utter these stupid remarks? Who doesn’t know that you are bought Mr Ndovie?

  4. That is why we need to change some electoral laws in our country. Some of these MPs must be taught a lesson. Its like you are fooling the electorates after voting as an Independent then you desert them for being money lover.Developments is not being in ruling party thus a total lie.Its high time for us to change these laws once and for all.Once the MP crosses to the other side we must have By-Elections like what is happening in our neighbouring country,Zambia.

  5. Khwauli Msiska stood on DPP ticket and failed, what makes Ndovi think that people in the constituency now want DPP whose candidate they rejected in elections? Why not just say it’s a greedy driven decision and one way of ensuring that Khwauli Msiska is finished? Do you think Khwauli Msiska is happy with your uncontrolled decision? It’s a sure way of being there for one term just like Chidumba Mkandawire in Rumphi Central.

  6. OLO NKHOPE YAKE IKUONETSA KUTI ILIBE NZERU NDIPONSO NDIOKONDA MAKOBILI.
HOW CAN SOMEONE BOAD A SINKING SHIP ?

    1. He wants to raise money for business. The point is what Destroyer of liars raised. If you analyse their campaign message Khwauli and Kenneth almost talk about the same things. Khwauli if stood as independent he would have won the constituency and would remained as independent. enawa once they see money dangling in their face head goes functionless. Last; after all people do not follow ideas it is who is better liar.

      1. Mubeletu zinthu sizinasinthe. Please take note this man should not be allowed in the civilised and intellectual coming government. Kodi mulibe manyazi?
