Kasungu’s Chief Kaomba urges Malawians to vote for DPP-UDF alliance: ‘Opposition only versed in demos ‘

One of Kasungu’s most influential Chewa chiefs Senior Chief Kaomba has hit at the opposition Tonse Alliance, saying it does not have experience in the running of government affairs.

He has urged people of Kasungu to vote for the DPP-UDF
alliance whose candidate is President Prof Arthur Peter Mutharika.

Chief Kaomba spoke at Kasungu boma where President Mutharika held a whistle-stop rally to address supporters there.

According to the Senior chief, government has lined up and implemented various developments meant to uplift the lives of people of
Kasungu.

‘It is only this alliance which has the capacity and experience to run government, the others are still kids in this game,’ said Chief Kaomba.

He also said the opposition has been running to the courts and holding demonstrations, a development that has derailed development in most parts of the country.

The Senior Chief also praised President Mutharika for picking UDF leader Atupele Muluzi as his runningmate who he hailed as being youthful, development oriented and focused.

‘Your Excellency, we the people of Kasungu are grateful for your choice of runningnate. Hon Muluzi is experienced in goverment as he has already served in your government,’ he added.

Senior Chief Kaomba also disclosed that some members of the Kamuzu Banda family have expressed gratitude to the President and his government for the support rendered in various forms.

The President is on his way to Mzuzu where he is expected to address several political meetings.

  2. Kaomba is not an influential chewa chief but just greedy just like Lukwa. He is one of the smallest TAs in this country and many Group Village Headmen have larger areas than him. He pretends to speak for the Kamuzu family but knows he is not a core member. DPP is losing this election he must know that.

  5. At a time when lifelong learning is required, it is strange to see so many DPP/UDF supporters castigating Tonse Alliance leaders for being learners. In addition, it is unfortunate that these supporters are showing their unfamiliarity with the ‘Peter Principle’ which states that members of an organization rise through the ranks until they are working at their level of incompetence. The leaders of the Tonse Alliance have not been active in politics long enough to reach that level. On the other hand . . .

  8. Chief Kaomba of Kasungu is one of the corrupted and greedest chiefs in Malawi. He is as useless as most chiefs in Malawi. They receive corrupt money from government all the time.
    Tonse Alliance government should dismantle chieftainship in Malawi. There should be no chiefs at all.
    They are the ones that want the status quo to remain and they be beneficiaries of the corrupt regime.
    They have been promised free houses free cars etc as long as they remain loyal to Mutharika.
    The new government should abolish chiefs.
    Let there be councillors who should run affairs of the people in the villages.
    Chief Kaomba should be dissolved.

  17. Honestly speaking APM is not well. The left arm seems to be dying. Two to three years ago it was the right arm and this is mild stroke and the doctors are trying their best. This really a chance for udf to reclaim the lost glory. Voting dpp is not voting for dpp but udf. This Kaomba is a joke. He needs to visit prophet. He is a sick man.

  22. Kasungu people cannot vote dpp and Kaomba and his friend are fools and wasting their time. Kasungu people are not shit to support any southern region thieve. Lilongwe to Kasungu do you have roads? Go to southern region and see many roads wear fake tarmac and yet central region roads still take the shape of Kamuzu the exact roads Kaomba travels. Kamuzu gave him FREE degree did not even write exams.

  32. Going by the way Kasungu voted for Chakwera in last year’s elections, it is total madness to call Chief Kaomba who has always been a DPP supporter an influential figure.Nothing has changed, if anything the Chewas are more motivated than never before to dislodge the greedy Lomwes from power.

  37. There only two senior chiefs there in Kasungu who are supporters of DPP. Anything that dpp tell them to do or speak they do. One of them was even supporting same sex marriages and further went on to say tat his grandfather used to tell him that sex from behind is very sweet. Imagine that coming from the senior chief. So, don’ t worry, elections are just around the corner.
