Living Waters Church pastors beaten over woman’s death, removing body parts

An angry mob on Monday night severely injured two Living Waters Church pastors for allegedly killing a woman in Nsanje district.

Police in the district confirmed of the incident, saying the two pastors, Lyson Tchapo and Jones Ngoleka are currently in custody.

Nsanje police Officer-in-Charge Assistant Commissioner, Dube Kaonga said the two were beaten up for being
suspected to be behind the death of unidentified woman who was, last week, found brutally murdered and some body parts removed.

The two pastors were roughed up by an irate community of Chingwe village in the district who became suspicious of their car that was spotted parked at a graveyard along Nsanje Bangula M1 road on Monday night.

The angry villagers are said to have pounced on the two who were  allegedly seen entering the graveyard.

According to Kaonga the villagers apprehended the two pastors and started beating them up before damaging their vehicle.

Meanwhile, the law-enforcers are investigating the incident as the deceased’s identity is still unknown.

  34. Pastors are community people, I think we Malawian must learn manners. How honestly would you think a Pastor could kill a person and use body parts for business. I am living in Nsanje, specifically living in the same Chingwe Village.For you information, these two pastors, apart from preaching, also do some small businesses to make sure that that do not milk their followers. Because of this, their daily living is better off than some of the pastors that you may know. This makes other people to be envious with them and have closely been following them. For your information envy is the unique thing with people in Nsanje( Senas), compared to other tribes.

    On this day, they were knocking off from their business between 9pm and 10 pm. One pastor has a car and escorted his friend. In the process, they stopped along the main Nsanje Road and were discussing other issues. It is when misinformed community rounded them up with those allegations.

    Now few questions :

    1. Is it wrong for pastors , apart from waiting for their churches to support them, that they do other initiatives to support themselves ?

    2. For pastors who solely depend on their churches to support/ feed them, have you not heard christians running away from church, claiming there is too much chopereka ?
