Lucius Banda blocked from performing at Club Planet in Karonga
Music legend ‘Soldier’ Lucius Banda and his Zembani Band got a shock of their lifetime after he was told that a venue he had prior booked for a show was no longer available.
Banda had scheduled for a show on December 27 2019 at Planet Club but when he arrived he found that the place was under lock and key.
Planet Club is one of the most popular entertainment joints in the lakeshore district that hosts live shows.
The owner was not immediately available for comment but in an interview Banda said he was “disappointed.”
“Honestly I am not happy with what happened. As you are aware, we just went there for the love of Karonga people,” Banda told Nyasa Times.

Sue them assess! Komanso fire your Manager. What good is he or she if she cant arrange contractually binding venue hire agreements for the band? Imagine the wastage from Balaka to Karonga for a no show. Who shoulders that expense? Your Manager should devise a Venue Hire Agreement document to ensure no such thing happens again.

I know this trip has accumulated lots of expenses and it’s hard to believe that the owner just walk up and locked the place.
Hope u had all contract agreement either written or Oral with the owner of the place and still u can win the case, he must reimburse all those cost.

Good questions Lucious Banda. People need to learn to use good tone when airing views. Zili zonse kunyoza without thinking how the victim is feeling. Well said, money can be made anywhere. What the club owner from my home district did is uncalled for. He should be brought to book for the losses.
I fully agree with Lucius. He is loved across Malawi, so I can’t imagine why he was blocked in Karonga. Lucius, never lose hope, you have more followers in Malawi than evil ones, who sabotaged the show.
