Lucius Banda challenger in Balaka North donates ambulance: Tony Ngalande to run as independent

Aspiring independent member of parliament for Balaka North Constituency Tony Ngalande has donated an ambulance to Balaka North constituency whose incumbent is UTM party campaign director Lucius Banda.

“As part of my promise to help the people of Balaka in all sectors of development I have donated an ambulance worth K18.5 million to be used by people from Balaka North Constituency as an initiative to help in the health sector, and it’s supposed to help everyone regardless of their party affiliations,” he said.

Ngalande addressing constituents

Speaking to one of the constituents , Asiyatu Chibwana said she the donation is timely.

“We usually face a lot of challenges but with this ambulance we will be saved,” said Asiyatu.

Ngalande further explained that the ambulance he has donated is state of the art because it has oxygen machines and othe necessary materials in dealing with emergencies that are not found in other ambulances.

“And for that reason two nurses have been recruited to be accompanying the driver in times of emergencies,”Ngalande said.

However, he hinted on the initiative that he has planned to drill boreholes in every zone within the constituency since Balaka has been hit by water shortage.

Ngalande disclosed that he has bought a bolehole drilling machine and this starts soon after the rainy season before the elections..

Why is your face on the Ambulance?
This is not about peoples welfare but votes?

Ambulance yaulele🤔? What do you mean?

When you give do not let your other hand know.

Chitukuko chafika 2018 where was it from 2014.

Fellow Malawians, its high time we started asking questions instead of just allowing these greedy politicians treating us for fools.

That constituency belongs to all Parties that so called donation. Please remove your face and ur campaign info.

Just want to thank Mr Ngalande for this donation. However I would like a few clarifications. Considering your history, i would like to know if you made this donation with the peoples welfare at heart or your focus is to get votes and rip them later. Has this Ambulance been donated to save lives or act as a taxi service? Why am i asking this? This Ambulance is well equipped. Its a hospital in a vehicle. Designed to save lives on the way to the hospital. The person operating this Ambulance should be able to interpret and read an ECG… Read more »

Malamulo atsopano a zisankho akuletsa handouts . These promises of boreholes and donation of an ambulance when elections are around the corner are a typical example of hand outs for votes. Look at the ambulance . Pictures and name of the donor printed every where. That is advertising his candidacy to attract voters to vote him to parliament.. Chitukuko limapanga ndi boma. Once he gets to parliament he will not be using his money to do any development. LDF, CDF etc will be funds that government will be disbursing for developments . As it has happened else where in Malawi,… Read more »
