Malawi Christians mark Good Friday with 'Way of the Cross'

On Friday,  hundreds of Chritians walked the Way of the Cross from Ndirande Anglican Parish through the Makata Road ending at Ndirande Holy Ghost Catholic Parish re-enacting Jesus’ march to crucifixion and linking it to modern-day suffering and injustice.

The march simulates the historic devotional practice of the Stations of the Cross, which recalls 14 episodes on Good Friday, including Jesus’ trial, march to the cross, death and burial.

In this walk, participants cited such things as the sufferings of people without adequate food or health coverage, victims of domestic abuse and Satanism.

The Priests from both Anglican and Catholic churches asked their faithful to repent during Easter and remain faithful to their church teachings

They also held thankful prayers to God at BSS and Blantyre Girls where last year’s Way of the cross they asked God to intervene on satanic attacks on school pupils.
