The price of the daily  edition of  The Nation newspaper is being raised to K600  from K450 as well as that of Nation on Sunday by the same amount, while the Saturday issue of Weekend Nation  will go up to K70,  increasing from K500.

NPL said in a statement published on Thursday that it is increasing the cover price “to incorporate VAT and increasing production costs.”

The latest price rise is set to be effective Thursday, December 8, 2016.

NPL promises “better service” in 2017 while appreciating readers support over the years.

A media expert told Nyasa Times that it  is an increasingly challenging market for all newspapers and by raising the cover price the publication should be able to keep investing in their  journalism in  print and digital products.

BNL – publishers of Daily Times, Sunday Times and Malawi News – please do not follow… Read more »

I used to buy two news papers everyday because I like reading. The new price for the two giant newspapers will force me to buy one paper everyday. I will only buy the one that has attracted me. I cannot help it but just to do that.
