Malawi Queens set to camp for C’wealth Games

Malawi national netball team is set to camp for Glasgow Commonwealth Games scheduled for July 23-August 3 in Scotland.

Netball Association of Malawi (Nam) president Rose Chinunda said they should be through with all logistics to call the team to camp.

But Chinunda declined to state whether they would reconsider the coaching panel with Peace Chawinga Kalua, who has won two cups for her Tigresses, turning down an offer to coach the senior team.

“We are going to look into the issue of coach later as we call the players into camp,” Chinunda said.

But Chinunda said the association would have been happy if the national team had played two friendly games before the tournament.

“We wanted two friendly games lack of money we won’t be able to do it,” she said.

Nam replaced Chawinga with Mary Waya as head coach for the team.
