Malawian shot dead ‘in cold blood’, South Africa

A Malawian man in his early 20s was shot dead in South Africa at his Zozo hut on Thursday last week in Mnandi suburb, Midrand, Nyasa Times has learnt.

The victim is identified as Daimon Kanyinji from Zombe village T/A Kaluluma in Kasungu district.

“ It was in the evening around about 8pm when neighbours held two gun shots. The following day he didnt not report for duty and his co workers were surprised. When they went to investgate his door was still locked and when they looked through the broken window at the back, Daimon was lying on the bed in cold blood,” said one Malawian who spoke to Nyasa Times.

“He was shot twice in the head through the window. The police had to kick down the door to gain access to the hut.”

Another Malawian corroborated the story: “It was cold-blooded murder and it seems it was an intentional murder.”

South Africa police said they are now following a definite line of inquiry in their investigation.

Another Malawian living in South Africa, AndersonTheu, 54, of Inkosi Kampingo Siwande, Eswazini, Mzimba distrct bled to death after he was subjected to a ‘barbaric’ knives attack this week.
