Malawi’s Ctech Sytems announces user-friendly payroll, lodge management apps

A local technology firm, Ctech Systems, has announced the development of two applications in the disciplines of human resource and lodge management which they project will revolutionize business information systems in the country and beyond.

Ctech CEO Daniel Chiwinga (R) with workmates behind the app

Ctech CEO Daniel Chiwinga said in an interview with Nyasa Times that the two applications—Ctech Payroll/HR and Ctech Hotel/Lodge management—have been designed to suit international standards with a Malawian touch.

“These are game changer apps that use little resources to produce high output. High end encryption algorithms have been used for the apps security,” said Chiwinga.

He said the apps are multi-user meaning they can run on one device, networked devices and online services.

“Users with different access have passwords to access their different sections,” he said. “It has taken us months working on these apps. We involved users at different levels to get constructive feedback.”

According to him, the apps are ready and various companies and organizations in the country have expressed interest to use them.

“These are original products. In fact, at Ctech our philosophy is that we lead and not play catch up,” he said.

The Payroll and HR app has attendance module to track hours worked of employees, calculates salaries and wages.

The app has modules for storing and managing employee records, organizing all the tasks of employee payment and the filing of employee taxes, producing and printing pay slips, generating reports per day, week, month, year and many other combinations.

The app has employee loan management and module for handling deductions as well. Simply put the payroll and HR
app has payroll module which takes care of all employee pay activities, Human Resource Management Module which takes care of all HR activities.

On the other hand, the Hotel/Lodge Management app studied Hotels, lodges and guest houses processes in Malawi and came up with a solution to automate the manual processes.

Said Chiwinga: “The app has these main modules that manage room reservations and bookings, restaurant sales, bar sales, inventory, accounting and generation of reports. Simply, this app has many apps combined in one to remove the cost of buying different apps and integration.”

Ctech Systems has grown from experimentation from a room at Mzuzu University where Chiwinga studied ICT to one of the fastest growing ICT companies in Malawi. More about it can be accessed on www.ctech.com
