Kwimbira, who has handled Africa and World Cup and Olmpic Games assignments, was the only woman picked from Malawi for the tournament held in Bulawayo from 13 to 24 September.
In an interview with Nyasa Times she was happy to have it as this has given her a platform for her continuous assessment by Fifa.
Fifa has earmarked the Malawian celebrated referee for her second consecutive Women’s Football World Cup to be held in France in 2019.
“I was the only referee from Malawi and I handled six games including the semifinals match between eventual champions South Africa and Zambia,”she said.
Kwimbira Mzika, who was a top athlete and women’s football player, applauded the Malawi national team performance.
“I also enjoyed the national team bravefight. I cheered.”
Malawi beat Madagascar 6-3 lost to Zambia by same margin and held hosts Zimbabwe to a 3-all draw but did not proceed to the semifinals.
