Sindie Simtowe set to resume playing : Malawi Queens boost

Malawi national netball team and Tigresses snipper Sindie Simtowe is set to come back in the netball court after spending over eleven months without playing.

Sindi Simutowe back in action

Simtowe was forced to stop playing in December last year after sustaining an injury for her left leg at Blantyre Youth Centre when Malawi was preparing for the Fast5 competition which took place in Australia.

The former GOtv brands ambassador told Nyasa Times that after staying on the sidelines for long she is ready to resume playing.

Simtowe’s absence in Tigresses camp affected the team especially to the up front where it was lacking a sharp shooter who could’ve manage to take on defenders and score baskets.

“I really missed netball alot as you know that its all about having fun, winning games and taking my career to a higher level. At first I was doubting if I am going to play again because of the serious pain which i was feeling on my leg. But  am very excited and thankful to God
now for healing me.

“I can confirm that I will start my training on October 3 2017 with Tigresses and people should expect to see me in the second round of Rainbow Paints league,” said Simtowe.

Tigresses centre Beatrice Mpinganjira described Simtowe’s come back as a welcome development saying her presence will help to boost morale in their camp.

She said apart from having young talented players the team was lacking strong depth and the coming of Simtowe will add a good value to the team because of her experience.

“We really missed her services as a team and  personally I have been waiting for her come back because she is one of the players who knows my passes and movements when we are playing so i hope her she will bring a positive change to the team,” said Mpinganjira.

Tigresses has been struggling to display their usual brilliant play since last season and it is yet to peak up its form.

In the just ended GOtv Netball Champions League Tigresses finished on position 6 while in the on-going Rainbow Paints Blantyre and District Netball League they are on position 3.
