Mangochi preaches peace, rules out Usumani killing revenge

A group of religious leaders from different denominations in Mangochi have dispelled social media reports that people in the district would revenge for the death of police officer Usumani Imedi.

The grave for Imedi

Imedi was brutally stoned to death in Nsundwe, Lilongwe where he had gone to lead a team of law enforcers bring peace after a vigilante group blocked roads to prevent people from going to the venue of a political rally held by president Peter Mutharika in Kawale, Lilongwe.

Member of Mangochi Interfaith Dialogue Ahmed Kansuchi said people of Mangochi were Malawians who were equally sad with the death of Imedi.

“People of Mangochi cannot take the law into their own hands, they are Malawians; this is why they live everywhere they want in the country so these reports of revenge are not true,” he said.

He however called political party leaders to meet and discuss peace and encouraged religious and traditional leaders to preach peace instead of violence.

Imedi came from Makanjira in Mangochi.

I urge enforcers of the law to get to the bottom of this case.

I am not convinced that any Malawian could perpetrate such a violent murder of a law enforcement officer in broad day light, without some force behind it.

Please get to the bottom of who motivate such evil acts.

I believe the nation is owed an explanation.

This is exactly what we need in Malawi, an eye for an eye will make the world blind. Thank you Mr Kansuchi and leaders in Mangochi for showing Malawi that there are some sober minded people who think and act beyond tribal or regional lines.

A every person forgets what he did or prayed for in the past, but the wonderful Allah remembers pretty well what you had done or had asked Him to do for you. So what one had asked ,for it shall be fulfilled by Allah not matter how short or long it may take. Chikwera prayed for blood. So why people get surprised today when Allah is fulfilling Chakwera’s crying for blood?.
