Maskal returns with Maria, confirms album drops later this year

US based RnB singer Maskal returns to active music with a new record titled ‘Maria’.

Maskal: I am back

Maria features GD, the one half of the Hip Hop duo Daredevils.

Maskal has been on hiatus for over a year and some months. His last release was in 2015.

Speaking in an interview with Nyasa Times from the United States, Maskal says the break was a personal decision.

“Yeah, am all back now”.

“It was a break mainly, nothing much. I don’t really have a reason for my silence. I just wanted a break, and stay out of the scene that’s all. It was just a personal decision that’s all” says Maskal.

The Song Maria  Maria, Mainly talks about a woman who has been hurt a lot emotionally according to Maskal himself.

“So the song is more of a positive vibe towards all the women out there who have been or are in such situations”.

Maskal has worked with Pro-Pee records, OBK records and Tricky Beats.

New Projects

Maskal confirms that he is working with a couple musicians in the US, some here are in Malawi and other African countries but could not reveal names in the meantime.

“Am working on an Album which is going to be out later this year, but i have couple songs and videos to put out.”

“But it’s been long since i have been active in the industry so it’s going to be a process to get hype and everything back”.

Maskal took time to thank alot of people for showing him love though his period of silence and having faith in him.

“i just want to thank my fans for being there for me when i was out, my family, all the Djs, Em cees, radio personalities, producers and promoters and all the media guys for the support i appreciate and i don’t take it for granted”.

Maskal became a house holder name with songs like ‘Udalire’, ‘Hey’ from his two previous albums.
