MCP atrocities victims rejoin party, support Chakwera

Malawi Congress Party (MCP) acting spokesperson Eisenhower Mkaka has
said the coming back to the party of victims of the atrocities perpetrated by some former officials of the former ruling party is an
indication people have forgiven it and is set for land slide victory in 2019.

Chikago : In MCP

Mkaka singled out the son to former member of parliament in Chikhwawa, David Chiwanga, who was brutally killed in the infamous Mwanza murders where four cabinet ministers were killed in 1983.

David Chiwanga junior was welcomed back into the party at a rally which the party organized to welcome businessman cum politician Sidik Mia, Ken Kandodo, Halima Daudi and Ulemu Chilapondwa.

“Not long ago we also welcomed into the party daughter to late Aaron Gadama, Mary Gadama. It is also imperative to note that Dr John Chikago, who is currently NEC member, is a relation to late Dick Matenje,” he said.

He said the party is in the process of reuniting the nation.

Mkaka said the MCP is no longer the party of death and darkness as demonized by some sections of society but rather it is moving forward with the democracy.

“The rebranding process has and continues to change the face of the party,” he said.

He said  the rebranding process is paying dividends, saying the MCP will no longer be the same.
