Mighty Wanderers are blues not orange — Mlenga Mvula
One of the aspirants for the position of General Secretary in the forthcoming elections at Be Forward Wanderers, Mlenga Mvula, says it is very awkward for the reigning TNM Super League Champions to be using orange colours when their old traditional colours are blue and white.
The era of blue and white colours at the Lali Lubani Road was ended when the club rebranded to embrace sponsors Japanese car exporting firm, Be Forward, orange and black colours.
But Mvula speaking on Monday night on Mibawa Television in a programme called Wadyabalalikani hosted by Peter Fote, sponsored by Premier Bet and monitored by Nyasa Times, said the Nomads should maintain its traditional blue and white colours.
Wanderers supporters have maintained their traditional blue and white colours in the terraces.
Mvula said he is ready to contest as General Secretary at the Lali Lubani club and change things in the contract between Be Forward as sponsors and the club in favour of all Wanderers players and fans.
“A number of things are not adding up at Wanderers. Only one person knows what is in the contract between Be Forward and Wanderers,” charged Mvula.
He lamented the tendency of players receiving their monthly dues on the 14th or 22nd of the following month.
Mvula also said when he becomes General Secretary at Wanderers; he will introduce a pension fund to improve the welfare of the players.
“There is need to scrutinize the contract between the sponsors and the club. Unfortunately, at the moment, there is no hard copy of the contract at the club and it seems only one person is conversant with that sponsorship deal,” retorted Mvula.
Mike Butao is the current General Secretary at Wanderers and so far he has not yet come out in the open to express his willingness to seek re-election at the club.
Wanderers were last sponsored in 2013 by Carlsberg Malawi, which came with a one-year sponsorship. Before that, they were unsponsored for three years after MTL pulled out in 2010.

Please ensure you have time table of uniforms in the pitch we want to see blue also in the pitch
This is what we call resistant to change. The name of the team was changed following sponsors BE FORWARD. I think there was a memorandum of understanding so that they should advertise their cars through wanderers. There is a danger which I am focusing. Go back to your traditional colors and lose the sponsorship.
And make sure you employ Pasuwa from Zimbabwe. No local coach at wanderers
Blue and White are the colours we all know from the hey days
