Government says it might not know whether it has created one million jobs or not because of lack of technical capacity to verify the figures.
Minister Kandodo: Malawi does not have data base and technical capacity to track and record job creation
Minister of Labour Ken Kandodo said the government lacks technical capacity to track job creation data.
The Tonse Alliance administration has been promising to create job centers across the country, to facilitate the job creation process amid high unemployment levels, especially among the youth.
Kandodo admits the country does not have data base and technical capacity to track and record job creation as government does not have the required software.
One million jobs creation was one of the Tonse alliance signature campaign promises in the run up to the June 23 court sanctioned presidential election.
Chilima and his friend are non other than shameless liers and greedy. He had two many promises which made it clear they were empty, but people believed him because of his sharp venomous tongue ( Chilima is Bakili Muluzu of this era). It is not strange when they make such an lame excuses on the issue of 1 million jobs, just like Bakili made an excuse for nit knowing the feet sizes of people he promise to buy them shoes.
Those that have worked or engaged kandodo, will testify that he has no brains. His only credentials are that he is a chewa, kamuzu relation, an Mp for the two earlier reasons, an mcp member by virtual of the first two reasons. MCP will let itself down. Only Chilima has the ability to both think and apply his thoughts. Malawi is a very Unfortunate country

Mr Minister, just tell us where exactly have you created jobs. You might not have the figures but tell us institutions which have employed some. We will calculate the number ourselves. Osamanama apa….non and I mean 0 job has been created. Companies are retrenching and many small businesses closing. Mr Minister, you have failed and the Tonse Govt has failed on this promise big time. We will judge you when the right time comes.

Reporting on new jobs created should be the easiest than creating the new jobs. You don’t need a special soft ware tool to do this. Formal companies can be mandated to submit figures on new permanent recruitment. Those youth and women who get Medef( what ever new name) loans can be mandated to submit figures on the new recruitment created. Informal sectors like in public markets can submit figures to the council through the market head incharge. Minibus operators, Trucking operators can likewise submit figures to the government through insurance companies who can provide questionnaires for such operators to respond… Read more »
