Mponda pleased with Wizard’s pre-season preparations
Premier Bet Wizards Coach, Peter Mponda has expressed satisfaction over his side’s preparations ahead of the new soccer season.
“So far so good. We were in Chikwawa and Nsanje to play some friendly matches and l can say from what l saw; l am impressed with my players,” he said.
Mponda added that he spotted one player from Nsanje, who will be joining his side soon.
Wizards have not done much on recruitment in the off-season despite losing the likes of Jimmy Mbandambanda and Bester Phiri to other League out-fits.
He said his next destination will be Phalombe.
“The pre-season camp will give us an opportunity to gel as a team and look for hidden talent. Our next district is Phalombe. Everybody is showing the right energy. Work has begun and we are all aware of the mammoth task ahead of us,” Mponda pointed out.
The former Flames Captain acknowledged that the Pre-Season friendly matches in districts are something he is looking forward to as they give him a chance to gauge how their preparations are going.
“I am happy with the mood in the team. The friendly matches will give us an opportunity to measure our level of readiness for the new season,” Mponda added.
