Mtetemera returns to MDC in upbeat mood as Dwangwa face Blantyre Utd

MDC Ground used to be MacDonald ‘Nginde’ Mtetemera’s home ground when he was playing for the defunct MDC United way back, but the former Soccer Saints towering defender returns to the ground as head coach for Dwangwa United, who scheduled to battle for three points against Blantyre United at the Chilomoni based venue.
Dwangwa coach MC Donald Mtetemera: Confident MDC Ground will be a victory venue
Both sides are searching for a winning formula having started the Super League campaign on a bad note.
Dwangwa United are stuck at position 14 with five points from seven games while Blantyre United, who are currently hunting for a coach after parting ways with outspoken Leo Mpulula, are second from the bottom on the 16-member log table with four points from seven mm games as well.
Last Saturday, the Sugar men bagged a point after settling for a one-all draw with military side Mafco FC at Chitowe Stadium in Dwangwa, Nkhotakota. While Blantyre United lost 0-1 to Blue Eagles at MDC Ground.
Mtetemera said the draw was a relief but quickly stated that he was not satisfied with results and points they bagged so far.
He said his charges will fight tooth and nail in their next games in order to jump out of the relegation zone.
“Blantyre United are willing to collect points, but we are more willing and determined to collect points in our next games. The boys know that the team’s destiny is in their own hands and their fight for points and survival in the Super League by themselves” said Mtetemera.
He expressed optimism that with players with big hearts in the team, they will reverse the current situation.
Meanwhile, Blantyre United is inviting applications from qualified coaches for the position of head coach for the team.
The roles and responsibilities for the head coach will among others include providing att all times positive and effective leadership of team members; meeting specific deliverables that may be set out and presented by the clubs management and recommending players for recruitment.
Elsewhere, Mzuni FC will play host to Wizards FC at Mzuzu Stadium; Civil Sporting will host Blue Eagles at Civo Stadium, all on Saturday. While on Sunday, Mighty Be Forward Wanderers will face off with Azam Tigers at MDC Ground; Moyale FC and Masters Security will battle it out at Mzuzu Stadium; Mafco FC will host their brothers in arms Kamuzu Barracks at Chitowe Stadium with Red Lions hosting Dwangwa United Balaka Stadium.
