Cultural grouping, Mulhako wa Alhomwe, has said it will spend a bit over K100 million for its tenth anniversary celebrations at its Chonde headquarters in Mulanje on Sunday.
The grouping started in 2007 with late President Bingu wa Mutharika as one of the founding pioneers and patron.
Mulhako wa Alhomwe acting chairperson, Leston Mulli, said this year’s celebrations were unique because the grouping has defied a number of odds to soldier and stay on.
“It will be a great one because apart from having the President as the guest of honour we will also have dignitaries from Mozambique, Zambia and Zimbabwe,” said Mulli. “We will be spending over K100 million.”
According to him, there will be a performance from a Mozambican band in Lhomwe language.
Dick Makhumba—the publicity secretary—said they have decided to celebrate the anniversary under the theme ‘Youth Empowerment.’
Makhumba said there will be a youth conference prior to the celebrations from Friday to Saturday this weekend.Follow and Subscribe Nyasa TV :
