Muslim artist Zain to perform in Malawi

A renowned South African Muslim spiritual artist Zain Bhikha is expected to perform live in the country from January 23 in Blantyre and Lilongwe.

Zain Bhika is a South African singer and song writer who is renowned worldwide for his Islamic nasheed. He is also engaged in social welfare projects in South Africa as well as international initiatives to educate through songs.

Communication Director for the Classic, organizers of the show, Bashir Amin told a local radio Capital FM that  the proceeds of the events will go towards bankrolling the 2015 Malawi Muslim Awards (MMA) which made its debut in July last year.

“If all goes to plan, Zain will be in the country on January 22 and we hope to have a special dinner at Malawi Sun Hotel in Blantyre on the next day. He is going to perform live at Robins Park in Blantyre on January 24 and at Crossroads Hotel on January 25,”Amin.

Amin has assured Malawians that the show will be one of a kind and that the organizers are doing everything possible to meet people’s demands.

“Zain is a very professional artist thus he comes with demands of quality and organisation. We are therefore making sure that we live up to his requirements as well as the needs of the people.”

Zain known for various pieces including Allah Knows, Mountains of Makkah and Give thanks to Allah.

”There is a great need for Muslims to have a contribution to the arts. The youth, especially, need positive music to listen to with a strong educational message,” Zain is on record saying.

Under his own label, the 40 year old, Zain Bhikha has released seven albums and two singles CD’s. All of his albums have featured amongst the top ten bestsellers by Muslim Artists.

    1. Kuwila Chilambo, let me assure you that True Christians DON’T believe in the Trinitarian god I.e Trinity. They believe that there is only ONE GOD, JEHOVAH and that the teaching of trinity is pagan. It was adopted wholesale from false religion. The Egyptians, Romans, Babylonians, Persians etc all worshipped triad gods. Trinity was not taught in Christianity up until after 400years when Jesus ascended to heaven. it was adopted to lure pagans into Christianity. So yes I agree with you, worshiping a triad god is 100% wrong

Attacking one another will not help us, but understanding that we are of different religions but with the same goal will really help us. I AM A CHRISTIAN AND YOU ARE A MUSLIM, I believe that CHRISTIANITY OR ISLAM lays in the heart. Yes, one may call himself/herself a Christian or a Muslim by name, but not such in the heart. “GOOD MORNING”.

  17. Nothing pains me than the fact that no matter how educated most Malawians are becoming, more even are becoming as stupid and as dull as before. Muslims are bona fide citizens of this country. They became Muslims, I mean Islam got introduced in Malawi, the then Nyasaland, way before even the 1st missionaries brought Christianity in here. Muslims coexisted peaceful and in fact welcomed and gave land to this colonialists who together with them brought christianity. I seriously don’t understand why most of the owners of the stupid comments above choose to ignore this historical fact and goes ahead unashamedly to insult legitimate Malawian citizens! Get a life guys and accept the fact that Islam is here forever!

It’s better you do not comment anything you’ve got any clue what it talks about. I’ve no problems with the Islam artist coming to Malawian moslem locals to perform but quoting something you have absolutely no idea and misrepresent it is plagiarism to say the least. UNLESS ur so ignorant you will go there ! Its like bringing Rabbeka Malope from South Africa to sing ,will you see the Muslims attending ? Let the Muslims attend, its their religious freedom
