The President made the call at Kamuzu Palace on Friday at a DPP national fundraising dinner dubbed the Blue Night.

Mutharika urged the members to desist from abusing the party’s property but rather own it by taking care of its property.

“I urge you to stop abusing party finances by inflating figures.  The party belongs to all of us and as such we have to take care of our property whether finances or material property,” he said.

He, therefore, urged the party members to work hard at all levels of the party in order for the party to achieve its mission of developing the nation saying it is for that reason that DPP exists.

The President appealed to party members to strive to work for the party and not vice versa saying the party cannot run without finances and integrity.

“To achieve our mission we must sacrifice for the party. Let us give back to the party instead of waiting to receive from it. If you can’t afford money, you can sacrifice your time and wisdom on how to run the affairs of the party,” said Mutharika.

The Blue Night was organized to raise money to support the party in the campaign ahead of the 2019 tripartite elections.

The event was spiced by performances by the Sendera Sisters, Phungu Joseph Nkasa and the Black Missionaries.

  1. The unfortunate side with you bwana Mutharika is that you tolerate indiscipline and indecency in your party. We don’t have to go very far to demonstrate this. Look at the language your officials are using in your presence. Jeff wa Jeff, mchacha et al are simple examples I can cite here. No person let alone a whole president with morals regardless of political leanings will tolerate the insults that DPP is subjecting women to. If you mr president can’t see anything wrong with this behaviour by your officials then we have a very serious problem on our hand and we surely have every justification to question your moral uprightness as a person and your political morality as a leader. This tendency by DPP of insulting women describing them as ” mahule” is not only alienating women from DPP but all of us men who love our wonderful wives, our dear mothers , our amazing daughters and sisters , our cherished aunties and our ever adorable grannies. These insults against women should and must stop. it’s doing your party too much harm. DPP supporters nthawi zina muzimva zonena zanzanu. We truly abhor this savagery and obnoxious conduct

  2. Each and every person looks at the other suspiciously…reading between the eyes and thoughts. There is a big rotten rats in this party. Once it is found those faces should brighten up. I wish you well. Every face tells a story. The look on your faces is not healthy and good at all.

  3. Laughable indeed! The big thief telling his fellow thieves to exercise discipline while the 145 million kwacha case is still in the courts.

    1. Then there is also mwana thief SKC…APM said Chilima ndi mwana wake…nkhani ndiyakuti Chilima sanampatseko dollar komanso position…nkukwiya…..

  4. It’s not only taking g care of DPP finances, but also reigning Mchacha and Was Jeffrey; two people who think popularity can be derived from foul mouthing which, unfortunately, tarnishes DPP’s image. The party should avoid careless utterances by the two goons at all cost, particularly when insults are levelled at women.

  5. First and foremost bwana, none of your senior party men are are listening to your wise words. In fact that will go put tomorrow and do the exact opposite. They don’t respect the law and they will continue to loot ruthlessly. The biggest problem you have bwana is that when your senior party members disrespect you, please show them that you’re In charge and call them to order in public or punish severely. People will respect you for that otherwise how do you expect Malawians to respect you when your own leadership isn’t respecting you bwana. Most like.y these People do as they pleas ebecause they know you’ll shield them when they overstep their authority. Please bwana, take charge of DPP and then the govt. Be decisive and authoritative as a leader otherwise anyamatawa akukudelerani akuti mwakalamba

  6. lol why do u call for such discipline when your official insult women at rallies even at your presence. When your cadets beats people you know for a fact are sent by your governors. I smell hypocrisy here! You cant be a good leader if you can’t discipline your team where its due.

    1. @ make Malawi Great

Well spoken buddy. It’s pure insanity to thump down this well meaning advice given by Make Malawi Great . No person with morals regardless of political leanings will tolerate the insults that DPP is subjecting women to. If you can’t see sense in this sound piece of advice as dutifully offered by Make Malawi Great surely you have to question your state upstairs.

  7. Blue night , where money stolen from government coffers is made legitimate by transfering to DPP accounts. It also gives immunity from prosecution all the thieves. Apumbwa inu blue night yomaliza ndi imeneyo
