Mwayi Kumwenda inspires Vixens to go second in Australia Super Netball

Malawi’s top netball export Mwawi Kumwenda, was given start in as she combined with Tegan Phillip to beat Queensland Firebirds by an impressive 66-50 to go second in Australia’s Suncorp Super Netball.

“Mwai Kumwenda and Tegan Philip were outstanding! Shooting a combined 66/70 (94percent),” stated a post on Suncorp Super Netball official Facebook page.
 
Vixens led all the way from first quarter (11-17), half time (23-33), third quarter (33-52) and wrapped up the one-sided encounter 50-66 in the fourth quarter.
The Malawian star netball player was over the moon with the victory taking it to the social media by posting on her Facebook Page.
“It’s getting better and better with my girls at Melbourne vixens another win we thank God for 2017 season,” Kumwenda said.
Her teammates, also waxed lyrical on the victory saying, “When we are playing at our best we can be unbeatable!,” said  Liz Watson said.
Several Vixens fans were happy with the victory and roundly attributed the feat to team work.
“Fantastic effort girls – 9 GEM commentators so one sided for Firebirds – but the girls showed just how good they are,” Judy Stephens, said.
Unlike in Malawi where fans enter for free the game attracted a gate fee of from $85 (about K72,000) for non-catered and $145 (K116,000) for catered to watch the game.
