Mzimba man wins Airtel Malawi K10m grand prize
A Mzimba based Lameck Nyirenda has immerged as a lucky winner in Airtel Malawi Tipate promotion after getting K10 million grand prize.
Nyirenda, who is based at Visenda in Zalangwe, won the price after a draw which was conducted in Lilongwe on Friday.
“I am very happy to win this big prize, I don’t know how to thank God,” said Nyirenda in a phone interview with Nyasa Times.
At the end of the promotion, a total of 1055 people won different prizes among them 84 who went away with K1 000 000 each and 3.971 have won K1 000 airtime.
Airtel Malawi Managing Director Saulos Chilima said the promotion had been well received by most customers as indicated through the numerous entries and active play.
During the draw ceremony, Airtel promised that 10 most active players in the promotion were awarded K100 000 cash each as a tocken of appreciation.
“We also looked around across the country and discovered that SOS Childrens Village is doing tremendous job in helping the country look after it’s orphans.
“Their cause touched our hearts at Airtel hence through the Tipate promotion, therefore we are giving SOS Childrens Village a total of K3 million, K1 million to each regional institution,” he said.
The promotion has been running for the past 113 days with K1 million as daily prizes.
