The cause of the fire is not yet known but speculations indicate that the fire started in one of the restaurants, others said it is the electrical fault where the fire originates from one of the Escom poles which is planted near to one of the restaurants.
The area which has been much affected including the whole area where restaurant operates, all cosmetic shops situated at the Mzuzu car park.
Some of those affected businesspeople suspect it could be an act of sabotage by people who did not benefit from donations that poured from politicians during a similar tragedy on April 19 whose damage was estimated at K110 million.
