New condition of services for Malawi national team players in the offing
Ministry of Labour, Youth, Sport and manpower Development is working on new conditions of services for all national team players.
Director of sports in the ministry Jameson Ndalama, said government is reviewing the condition if services for national team players under Incentive and Welfare Programme for Sports Persons.
“We are not just looking at a specific sports discipline. We are revising all sports condition of service, be it netball or football,” said Ndalama.
Ndalama said the ministry has been consulting stakeholders on the condition of service.
“We have done a lot of consultations and once this is finalised, all national team players’ conditions will improve,” he said.
Currently, the game bonus for Malawi national football team is K100 000, which has been termed as manifestly inadequate.
