According to a statement of apology issued by HS HS Winehouse management dated January 16, 2014, the unplugged session with the ‘Gobe’ music sensation has been cancelled.

“HS Winehouse would like to inform its customers that Davido is not showing up tonight 16th January 2015 as previously announced and advertised due to dynamics beyond  HS Winehouse control,” reads the statement signed by HS Winehouse Managing Director Rachel Mijiga.

“HS Winehouse sincerely regrets any disappointment caused to its patrons.

The silver lining is that HS Winehouse still welcomes its clientele to a better than ever experience this evening and every evening except Mondays,” said Mijiga in the statement.

Initially it was announced that Davido was to jet into Blantyre through Chileka Airport today at 2pm where he was going to be hosted by Blantyre City Mayor Noel Chalamanda and members of the Keep Blantyre Clean and Green campaign.

The star was due to hold an unplugged session at HS Winehouse where patrons were expected to pay K5,000 for a red carpet photo and autograph opportunity with the Nigerian music maker.

Mijiga said patrons are welcome tonight and that there will be no fee to relax at HS Winehouse.

  2. Galu bwako. I am already in Bt from Nsanje for the event and you tell me now the show is cancelled, shupiti .

  3. The African Popular musicians too expensive and difficult to host them. I suppose someone might have offered him a better contract that would made him change his mind. Get our own local artists and they will do even a better performance
