“ We will work hard to maintain our position although we are aware that it will be difficult,” said Ndawa.

But it is clear that Ndawa’s rebuilding programme is working.

How they stand

Previous leaders Silver Striker  had to sit out the action as they have a crucial cup game on Sunday. They are second with 12 points from five games.

The Zomba based soldiers, Red Lions are basking on the third slot with 11 points from games as well while Civo United is chasing them closely with the same number of points but goal aggregate is separating the two out-fits.

Big Bullets is on position five with 10 points from six games, as Azam Tigers has the same number of points and games.

However, Escom United is still struggling, as they anchor the log table without any point.

The Electricians, have however, a tricky fixture against Moyale Barracks in Mzuzu on Sunday.
