Ntaba withdraws from Malawi High Commissioner to UK post
Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) former vice president Dr Hetherwick Ntaba, who was appointed by Pfresident Peter Mutharika and confirmed by parliament as Malawi’s High Commissioner to the United Kingdom, has withdrawn from the post.
Ntaba has withdrawn on personal grounds.
Public Appointments Committee (PAC) of Parliament chairperson Lingson Belekanyama and Chief Secretary to the Government George Mkondiwa confirmed Ntaba’s withdrawal,.
Ntaba was set to replace Bernard Sande who was recalled,
Meanwhile, according to a report in The Nation, PAC has cleared two diplomatic appointees, Chrissie Kaponda (High Commissioner-designate to South Africa) and Ambassador-designate to Brazil Edward Sawerengera.
However, Yunus Mussa (who was set to go to Egypt) and Ambassador-designate to Germany Voice Mhone still need to be replaced, the paper reported citing PAC sources.

Malawians do luck analytical skills or common sense,how can u praise Ntaba for turning down the appointment anyway the man could have done so soon he received the news of his appointment but to go for interviews then withdraw I don’t think this is adding up. Ntaba is not the first to do that, late RB Chidzanja Nkhoma did the same. he had pleaded with the ngwazi to withdraw him from Kenya as High commisioner and indeed he was withdrawn and became regional minister for for the center and MP in Lilongwe.
