Ooops! State House says Mutharika gives Mothers day ‘massage’

A goof live on Malawi Broadcasting Corporation (MBC) TV  as a statement from State House communications  director Bright Molande says President Peter Mutharika gives a ‘Happy Mothers Day Massage’ [Message].

However, despite the goof, President Mutharika  is wishing Malawi mothers a special Mother’s day.

Malawi commemorates Mother’s Day October 15 and join the international community in celebrating World Rural Women’s Day.  Monday, is a public holiday to honour all mothers in the country.

“President Arthur Peter Mutharika believes that mothers are pillars of society. They build families and nurture our children to become Productive citizens. Mothers have seen us through for us to be what we are today. They are the foundations of our progress as a nation,” reads a statement from State House seen by Nyasa Times.

In the statement, President Mutharika said he  believes that mothers are “special people” and is therefore calling upon all Malawians to respect mothers, cherish and celebrate the love and care they give.

“It is befitting that we celebrate Mother’s Day in Malawi at the time the international community comes together to commemorate World Rural Women’s Day. As you will recall the World Rural Women’s Day was launched in 1995 during the 4th UN World Conference on Women in Beijing, China. The day is commemorated annually on October 15.”

  1. HA if dpp fails blame it on mbc. MBC has been its PR in many times and if the party is not attractive, fire Sumbuleta, Jeffrey Kazembe and his controllers for being weak and failing the ruling party. MBC Propaganda as one of them said recently is obvious an boring. MCP and not MBC will win all seats. Get Ready for 2019.

  7. I still don’t understand why the headline has to start with oops? Do you even know what oops means? I mean come on! the president is delivering a mother’s day message. What’s so oops about it?
