Peoples Party (PP) says it is deeply angered with its former acting president Uladi Mussa whom it accuses of ferrying people in PP regalia to Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) functions, saying Mussa should stop this practice forthwith.
PP spokesperson Noah Chipeni said this in reaction to a group of women and youths who were clad in PP regalia and attended the ground breaking ceremony for a cotton factory on Monday in Salima.
“Uladi Mussa should stop this. He is no longer a member of the PP. He should not bring confusion in our party. Those who were clad in the PP regalia were not PP members after all,” said Chipeni.
Mussa was seen clad in blue shirt, sitting next to Chatinkha Chidzanja Nkhoma at the highly politicized function presided over by President Peter Mutharika.
Chidzanja Nkhoma later said she was invited to the function as a cotton farmer and said she was not defecting to the ruling party.
Mussa was the head of Joyce Banda’s presidential campaign team in the run up to the 2014 general election but fell out with Banda last year after he allegedly maneuvered to oust the party founding president as the party leader.Follow and Subscribe Nyasa TV :
