Police arrest a man with 106 mobile phone handsets
Malawi Police in Mulanje have arrested a 25 year old man for possessing 106 cell phones without supporting documents
Mulanje Police Public Relations Officer (PRO), Gresham Ngwira said Police arrested Frank Matenya on Monday at a roadblock in the district with a lot of handsets.
He said on Sunday the Police were manning a roadblock along Mulanje-Muloza Road when Matenya approached the place on a motorcycle carrying a bag full of assorted cell phones.
“When we searched the bag, we found 106 assorted cell phones” Ngwira said, adding that the suspect failed to produce documents supporting ownership of the items.
Matenya’s failure to produce the supporting document prompted the Police to arrest him and seized the questionable items.
Meanwhile, investigations are underway to establish where and how he obtained the cell phones.
Matenya who is currently in Police custody comes from Ndongo Village, Traditional Authority (TA) Nsabwe in Thyolo district.

Thief catching an innocent man.
Even He is arrested but you won’t find an evidence if the phones were stolen or not, if it works like that, then many could be arrested who buy second hands phone, because we don’t ask for papers buying 9 years used phone.
Atupele said he is going to donate mobile phones and laptops. That is a good market for these.
The police has nothing to do this days people buy handsets in south Africa which doesn’t have document they better work hard to arrest criminals and murders
