Politics forces National Bank of Malawi to replace Fredokiss with Tay Grin at college basketball

In a twist turn of events, organizers of the much billed College Basketball tournament have been forced to replace the sole music performer at the event hip-hop artist, Fredokiss due to political pressure.

Nyasa Times can reveal that organizers of the event National Bank have been featuring Fredokiss born Penjani Kalua as main performer in their adverts both on television and newspapers including in Friday papers.

The event is scheduled to take place at Blantyre Youth Centre this Saturday and will be attended by Vice-President Saulos Chilima.

However, it has emerged that the self-proclaimed Ghetto King has been replaced by the ruling Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) connected artist Tay Grin on grounds that Fredokiss is a son of most critical opposition politician, Kamlepo Kalua.

One of the people helping organizing the event has confided into Nyasa Times that that Fredokiss was deliberately not offered contract and has been replaced by Tay Grin due to political influences.

“The event will be attended by Vice-President Chilima and how do you expect a son of a critical and vocal opposition politician to perform at such event? Chilima’s presence makes it difficult to have Fredokiss at the same event. It’s all political. We were about to offer him contract but we have taken Tay Grin on board instead,” revealed the member.

Fredokiss confirmed that he will not perform at the event despite the announcement by the organizers, saying the decision is due to contractual disagreements.

“The entire management of Ghetto Gutter Entertainment regrets to announce that Fredokiss is not performing at Saturday’s event at Blantyre Youth Centre,” reads in part a statement issued by the artist’s Director of Strategy & Communications Howard Mlozi.

“The Fredokiss brand did not enter into any formal contractual agreement with National Bank. However, we are equally surprised that Fredokiss brand has been used on the adverts of the event in absence of a contract.”

Mlozi argued that by featuring Fredokiss in their adverts promoting the event without contract agreement was what they least expected from National Bank “as one of the country’s respected brands which is supposed to respect contracts as well as empowering Malawian talent.”

He added: “We apologize to our fans for the misinformation on the part of organizers of the event.”

I have noted two important facts: National Bank being DPP and Tay Grin being DPP. I regret associating myself with both coz DPP is symbol of repression. Ndakhumudwa kuti National Bank yalowa ubale ndi DPP. Komanso Tay Grin.eeeeish

National Bank will simply have to pay him for using his name in the adverts plus loss of business. Youngman government hasn’t done anything to you so leave them, go to National Bank. Straight forward.

Ku Malawi kunadzadza ndi uchitsiru. Is Fredokiss a politician? why don’t they close accounts for political gurus in opposition who keep alot of their money there? Obviously Sabbadiah has accounts with NBM, Giannakis too, Harry Mkandawire, JZU, Morgan Tembo, even Lazarus Chakwera too. Malawi is a stupid place to live, fuck you people who politicize everything
