Prophet Bushiri predicts Malawi strife

Famous Prophet Shepherd Bushiri of the Enlightened Christian Gathering (ECG) in Mzuzu has prophesied doom and bloodshed in Malawi towards the New Year, saying some forces will attempt to take over government by force.

The preacher said Malawians should pray to God, saying the country will be at standstill as it has never experienced before.

Bushiri was speaking ahead of a weekend crusade he has organised in Lilongwe over the weekend.

Bushiri: Malawi faces turmoil

“I see more bloodshed especially in the months of January, February and March we need to pray,” the Prophet warned.

He claimed his prophecies have come to pass like the burning of markets, the University impasse and the 20 July anti-government national demonstrations which claimed 18 lives.

“And God is saying we should pray that these things must not happen,” he said in remarks aired on Zodiak radio.

“The way it will start, it will not be started by the people we think can cause it. There will be a group, a new group which is going to rise, in fact this group has already written a letter to some embassies about this,” said the Prophet.

“They want to take over the country by force. What the civil society and other groups wanted to achieve never happened and other people are still angry. And this group is going to start this,” says Bushiri.

The preacher also appealed to faith leaders to desist from allowing the houses of the Lord to be a playing ground for politics- like reports of Calvary Family Church – saying Malawians are all one and need to unite to pray for the tough times ahead.

“We are all one whether you are Catholic, CCAP; Prophet Bushiri lets all pray together. I see too much politics in many churches,” Bushiri said.

The crusade that will take place at Lilongwe community centre ground will be held under theme; That Problem Must Go!
