Two rival soccer fans of the TNM Super League are united in Spain where they will sit side by side tonight in the Madrid’s Santiago Bernabéu to watch the titanic clash between Real Madrid and Turkish giants Galatasaray FC in the EUFA Champions League.
The two, Kondwani Kandonga and William Chitsulo are in Spain courtesy of Super League sponsor, TNM Plc. The duo earned their all-expenses-paid flights to Madrid after emerging lucky in the TNM Super League Zampira Promotion.
Interestingly, Kandonga and Chitsulo are fans of the country’s two rival soccer giants Be Forward Wanderers and Nyasa Big Bullets. Lady luck and their love of the TNM Super League binds them in Spain.
“I feel great. I can’t wait to see how the big boys of football do it,” said Kandonga.
His compatriot, Chitsulo said; “Coming here is no mean achievement. I can’t wait for the kick-off in the next few hours. I’m looking forward to seeing the big names for Real Madrid like Hazard, Benzema and Marcelo live in action, and it means a lot to me.”
TNM Brand and Communications Manager (PR) Limbani Nsapato said the two Zampira winners are excited to be in Spain under the company’s auspices.
On paper, the odds seem to be against the Turkish giants who lost 1:0 at home to Zinedine Zidane’s men in Instanbul on October 22.
The Madridistas are gunning for a maiden home win in this round of Champions League games in order to carve out any realistic chances of going top of their group.
Real Madrid have prevailed every time a Turkish side has visited the Bernabéu in this competition, with Galatasaray being the victims of the Whites clean sweep of wins on three occasions.
Fatih Terim’s men head into the contest in a tricky situation, given that defeat here would damage their chances of progressing in Europe. The Turks will have to go all out for victory, just as they did when the sides met a fortnight ago at the Ali Sami Yen Stadium. Toni Kroos grabbed the winner for Real Madrid.
