RVG  pressure eases with Malawi win

Malawi national team expatriate coach Ronny van Geneugden has admitted the stress he had after going three matches without a win since his appointment has been eased following  1-0 victory over Comoros Islands in 2019 African Cup of Nations (Acon) Group B qualifier at Bingu National Stadium in Lilongwe.

RVG had lost to Madagascar back-to-back in Championship of African Nations (Chan) and drew against Kenya in a friendly, before guding the Flames to home victory on Saturday.

He pointed out that coaching s an extremely stressful profession.

But he showered  praise to his charges for sticking to his game plan, saying his philosophy is syncing to the Malawi players

“Our trick was to be offensive from the start we did quiet impressively. I am more happy because we played a passing game,” he said.

“We played fantastic football. We will remain focused,” he said.

“We have a very complete group that has a great friendship. The players and officials are all pulling in one direction, which is great for football,” said RVG.

Comoros coach Amir Abdou also complimented RVG .

“I think Malawi played well,” he said.

Gerald ‘Papa’ Phiri Jnr  scored Malawi goal from a free-kick.

Tell him, defense asiye zibwana and should be fast. Musakhale… Read more »

But we need tacticians in front like Gaba, Gerald, Banda, and Linje. These must be completely flat out in as far as they are in the red line in front to either score or provide opportunity to the colleague for scoring please bring English tactic players of creating opportunity though he is close to goal post by passing to colleague for simple goal.… Read more »
