Sipe opens new Malawi modeling agency: Black Rose

Not only once, not twice,  but thrice did Sipe go for auditions but was not successful yet she never gave up until the fourth time when she was picked to represent Malawi in Big Brother Africa Hotshots 2014.

“I am not a person who gives up, it just has to happen. If I wasn’t successful last year I would have tried again this year,” she said.

Born Siphelire Chitambo but popularly known as Sipe, after Big Brother Africa Hotshots she has now opened Black Rose Modeling Agency. The Agency will run promotions for companies, events, Television (TV) commercials, billboards and video vixens who will be acting in music videos.

“Black Rose is for black girls who are all beautiful though it is not easy to find them since most of them think they can not pursue a career in modeling,” Sipe said adding that she has always wanted to have a modeling agency and support girls who have lack fees for college after their secondary school.

“This is not about me or money but about the girls, at least they will be earning something and be able to pay their colleges avoiding early marriages,” she said.

Currently, the agency has 15 girls and it is to fundraise for the people that are homeless and struggling to survive due to the floods.

“The fundraising has delayed due to my illness but when am back on my feet, I will visit the Department of Disaster Preparedness and Management to see where we can start from,” she said.

The official launch of Black Rose Modeling Agency is in March.

In a separate development, Sipe is to release two tracks Konah and Chikondi by 30 January, 2015.

“I am also working on a song with Slap D from Zambia and Ellah, my Ugandan friend from the Big Brother Hotshots, “she said.–Reporting by  Tendai Kansenza, Mana

  1. ‘Ujeni’ I really support your comment. Most of the comments I have read are very negative. I wonder if they can offer anything reasonable or tangible to helpless youths. Congrats Sipe!! You have demonstrated your initiative.

  2. Let’s just cross our fingers that this is not another brothel business ‘galvanized’ as modeling agency for easy registration. The first time I saw her picture on stage in some sensuous type of dancing antics I took this lady to be morally less upright. I am not judging her but am commenting based on what she, herself, was able to prepare for the public eye.

  3. Way to go girl, the youth have to take their own lives in hands, to promote themselves and move the country forward..

  7. Nice to promote your fellow black girls.I hate seeing our black sistoz bleaching their mahogany with Jaribu to like a Mullato.Black is really beautiful.Keep it up Sipe.
Cameras should not even be tampered to lighten their skin.We need pure blacks.

  8. koma mwati mkazi uyu samagulitsa thupi lake for money? she seems to be a hustler. like she can do anything for money.

  9. All those commenting negatively, my question is, what are you doing to employ fellow unemployed Malawians, and what have you contributed to Malawi, apart from writing kuti, za zii. Nsanje as per national anthem will not help you. Pano Sipe akupanga zake and zikumuyendera, inu mukhalila yomweyo with your anger. Get out!
