Terrorising cop remanded at Maula prison
A Police Officer who was engaged in several robberies has been remanded at Maula Prison awaiting court proceedings and no person is above law, Central Region Police Spokesperson Ramsey Mushani has said.
Mushani identified the Police Officer as Sergeant Grey Chinsinga of PMS C Division in Lilongwe and that he was apprehended this week after a number of complaints were made to the police against his conduct.
“The job of a Police Officer is to offer protection and when such a person turns around and starts to rob the very people he is supposed t protect then that’s criminal in nature and as police we cannot condone that.
“No officer is above the law as such this case will be treated just like anybody’s,” said Mushani.
Nyasa Times understand that the officer under arrest was going about town with a gun demanding money while in uniform and that recently he went to Mitundu in Lilongwe where he allegedly confiscated FISP coupons under the pretext that he was sent by high authorities.

I become irritated when an ordinary police person carrying a gun at a roadblock asks me a driver’s license. Why then do we have traffic police?
These thugs are there only to extort money from unsuspecting drivers.
Malawians are helplessly suffering at the hands of the police.
