Thyolo prostitute arrested for murder: Allegedly killed man who failed to payfor sex service

Police in Thyolo have arrested Thokozani Banda, a 23 year old commercial sex worker for allegedly killing Bizwik Macsonji who failed to pay up for sexual services.

Thyolo Police Publicist Edith Kachotsa said 36 year old Macsonji went to sell mats at Khonjeni market and after a good business day, he went to treat himself at Chibayela bar.

At the bar, Kachotsa said the deceased met Banda and the two decided to spend a night together but Macsonji is reported to have left his money with friends and thus failed to pay up for the sex.

“Macsonjis’ shoes were confiscated so that he could look for his friends and come up with the payment, unfortunately he came back empty handed claiming his friends had left,” said Kachotsa.

“The commercial sex worker hit him with a bottle on the head before going ahead to cut and stab him several times with a knife. She then released him but was bleeding badly that he could not even walk.

Some people saw him, immediately rushed him to the Mitengo Hospital, but died a few hours later while receiving treatment,” narrated Kachotsa.

Banda is in police custody waiting to appear in court soon to answer murder charges.

The deceased came from Sitima village, T/A Nchilamwera in the district while Banda comes from Juma Village, T/A Chilemba in Mulanje
