Described as Africa’s Queen of Comedy by the continent’s media, this is her second visit in Malawi having performed twice in Lilongwe a couple of years back and by popular demand, she is back to satisfy people’s hunger for glamorous and maximum entertainment.

According to organisers, Impala Marketing, the Queens of Africa Comedy isn’t coming alone — she will be accompanied by her compatriots, comedian Teacher Mpamire (a high school teacher) and a budding and entertaining comedian aka MC Cotilda Inapo.

Tickets for the show—at K25,000 for gold and K15,000 for silver, are now available at the following places in Blantyre at Steers Blantyre, Steers Poly, College of Medicine Sports Complex and at MultiChoice offices.

In Zomba they are at Steers and in Lilongwe at Crossroads Business Center and also at Jacaranda Wines in Area 47.

Impala Marketing, who are sponsoring the show in partnership with Kenya Airways, DStv, Times Group, Protea Ryalls Hotels, say that the tickets will not be sold at the gate on the day of the show.

“People must get them in advance and quickly because they are selling fast. Free tickets can also be won when people like and share the [show’s] poster on Facebook on Impala page,” says the flyer.

Annie Kansiime, holder of Bachelor of Arts in Social Science from Makerere University, was named the Brand Ambassador for MultiChoice Africa in October.

According to Wikipedia, Kansiime’s journey started right at Makerere, Uganda’s oldest and largest public university, where she participated in drama skits (short theatrical episode) that were acted by theatre group called Theatre Factory that performed at the Ugandan National Theatre.

In 2014, she started posting her drama skits on YouTube that attracted the attention of Citizen TV in neighbouring Kenya, who offered her a slot to produce, star and present a comedy show once a week eventually called ‘Don’t Mess With  Kansiime.

As of November 2014, her YouTube channel has amassed more than 15 million views that earned her some attention for a special appearance on BBC Focus on Africa.

She has since played to packed houses in Botswana, Rwanda, Kuala Lumpur, Lagos in Nigeria, London, Lusaka, Harare and including Lilongwe in Malawi.
