Tigresses overwhelm Serenity, Diamonds beat Shizaella in Rainbow Paints

Tigresses used a dominant opening half to beat Serenity Stars   61-33 in the Rainbow Paints Southern Region Netball League on Sunday at Blantyre Youth Centre.

Tigresses technical department headed by Peace Kaluwa fielded a strong squad  in the starting line up in the likes of Sindi Simutowe, Beatrice Mpinganjira and Lauren Ngwira.

Cathy Ikwanga  started as the Winger Defender, while Ellen Chibokho played as a goal attacker.

A dominant  Tigresses  led through the match opening two quarters as  started slow. A 19-10 first quarter and 16-12 second quarter put Tigresses  in a 13 goals deficit at halftime.

Serenity  played catch up in the second half but all was in vain as the gap was too big.

At the end of the third quarter, Tigresses  had extended the lead, with  a 14 goal’s difference reflected in their shooting prowess of 91% with Goal Shooter, Sindi Simutowe inflicting most of the damage.

The final quarter saw  Tigresses  best performance in the match, scoring more baskets   to finish with 61 baskets.

Meanwhile, on Sunday Kukoma Diamonds saw off resilient Shizaella Queens when they beat them 55 baskets to 21 at Blantyre Youth Centre.

Diamonds were a marvel to watch with some sharp shooting from Jessica Sanudi which saw the her team claiming more baskets.
