The company’s TNM Commercial Officer Daniel Makata  made the commitment during the 2014-2015 TNM Super League season prize presentation ceremony which was held on Friday  at  College of Medicine Sports Complex in Blantyre.

Makata  said TNM was impressed with the progress made by the league since the company started sponsoring it in 2006.

He said the company was proud to be associated with the Super League and they vowed to
continue helping government in developing football.

“We are satisfied with the management, performance and outcome of the League. I would like to announce that we will continue sponsoring the League and soon we will meet Sulom to discuss adjustment of the league  but details  will be announced later,” said Makata.

He also added that the company is pleased that its sponsorship has made a huge contribution to the success of the Malawi National football team, the Flames.

However, Makata stressed that good administration will remain the key to their commitment in sponsoring the League.

He also saluted clubs, fans and football administrators for a violence free season.

“The 2014 Super League season is ending on a high note because football stakeholders kept their promise to deal with acts of hooliganism and violence in football,” said Makata.

Government call

The secretary for youth and sports Justin Saidi praised TNM for its sponsorship and urged Malawians to subscribe to TNM.

“I am requesting Malawians to subscribe to TNM because the more we give them business the more they give us sponsorship,” said Saidi.

Saidi  also encouraged clubs, players, officials and supporters to properly manage and utilize this sponsorship because it meant for them.

Sulom President Innocent Botomani hailed TNM for its confidence in their body and assured them for the smooth run of the League.

Botomani also saluted fans and clubs for observing discpline and urged them to maintain order during matches next season.
