TNM dates golfers once more, this time at Dwangwa’s Kasasa Club

Malawi’s premier mobile network and ICT operator, TNM is hosting another fabulous golf tournament at Kasasa Club in Dwangwa on Saturday that is expected to attract a field of 80 golfers drawn from Blantyre, Zomba, Lilongwe, Kasungu, Mzuzu and the hosts Dwangwa.

The Dwangwa tournament, being sponsored under the auspices of TNM Home Internet, comes barely two weeks after TNM hosted a similar one at Gymkhana Club in Zomba under the brand TNM Business Services (TBS).

Chief Commercial Officer Daniel Makata said the Kasasa tournament is a continuation of TNM’s interaction with customers to sensitise them of the company’s unparalleled capability to provide a reliable connection to mobile internet.

“The Dwangwa tournament is being sponsored by TNM’s home internet, which is provided by the green packet and split unit,” he said.

“TNM continues to partner customers through golf tournaments as they provide a platform to engage them and update them on new developments in the ICT and mobile telecommunications industry.

“As a major sponsor of golf in Malawi, we are proud to be associated with the sport and our involvement goes a long way to demonstrate our appreciation of the support we get from the golfing community and its market eco-system,” he said.

Makata said TNM’s integration as an ICT and mobile business gives the company opportunity to leverage on our strengths as a mobile telecoms and internet network service operator offering high speed broadband, e-wimax and Wi-fi among other products.

The Zomba Gymkhana Club tournament was won by Charles Mukiwa with Boniface Tivalenji coming second Rajeev Singh third.

In the ladies category, Bose Kamphulusa was the champion with 45 points followed by runner-up Muguvu Karuku on 40.

The sponsors also provided a special prize for the best score from a senior golfer and this went to Chimdima Mhango.

The pioneer mobile phone service provider successfully sponsored the largest golf tournament in the country, Malawi Open, organised by the Golf Union of Malawi (GUoM) held in April at Lilongwe Golf Club.

TNM also sponsors national golf team’s assignments for both men and women and other tournaments at various golf clubs.

They are also sponsors for Malawi’s top flight football league, the TNM Super League, whose 2016/17 season is in full swing after a successful last season that was won by Nyasa Big Bullets.
