TNM hats off to Malawi champions Bullets
Malawi’s top league, Super League sponsors, premier mobile telephone service provider TNM has applauded the Big Bullets Football Club and their fans for winning the 2014 league championship.

Bullets ended their nine-year title drought with a 1-0 victory over hot title rivals Moyale Barracks last week at Kamuzu Stadium in Blantyre.
The added the icing on the cake to finish the campaign in style with a 3-0 thrashing of relegated Blantyre United to take their tally to 62 points nine behind Moyale.
“We would like to wholeheartedly extend our congratulations to the Big Bullets family for clinching the title after putting in extraordinary effort. Bullets were hard-working, organized and consistent. They never gave up even when the going got tough. They remained resilient to pressure on and off the pitch,” said Chief Commercial Officer, Daniel Makata.
He attributed Bullets success to discipline and commitment for players, supporters and officials.
“We at TNM believe that discipline was key to Bullets FC success, and we would like to hail the spirit,” said Makata.
He said TNM was overwhelmed with the high level of professionalism and commitment demonstrated by the Big Bullets FC players, fans and administrators on their way to the coveted title.
He cited the Big Bullets FC feat of being the top earner in the Sapota Mapeto SMS promotion as a mark of the club’s commitment this season.
Bullets FC has earned over K7.8 million during the promotion in a period of 16 weeks.
“That is evidence that the fans are solidly rallying behind their club, and augers well with the Bullets reputation in Malawi as the ‘Peoples’ Team,” he said.
He encouraged other teams to emulate Big Bullets example of defying the odds to clinch the League after a nine-year drought.
Overall Makata commended the high level of competition displayed by all the 15 Super League teams during the 2014 season.
“Bullets are Champions today because they were given a good run for their money by their competitors. Overall, it’s clear that the Super League is achieving its goal of developing football standards in Malawi and this has recently reflected in the performance of the Flames, who despite not qualifying for 2015 Africa Cup of Nations continue to improve their performance remarkably,” he said.
On Bullets FC’s ambitions to compete for the continental honours under Confederation of African Football (CAF) Club Champions League, Makata said TNM was keenly awaiting Bullets FC participation and expressed hope that the team would excel given its current form.
“We wish them well as they take part in the continental league and as a brand we feel proud that our sponsorship of the league is now producing international standard teams and we shall be with them all the way and have no doubt that they will excel.”
The TNM Super League has 15 teams competing for the lucrative title every year.
