TNM hints on Malawi Super League sponsorship increase
Official sponsors of Malawi’s top flight soccer league Telecom Networks Malawi (TNM) has responded to calls from the soccer fraternity to consider increase the sponsorship.
There has been a public outcry to the company to raise the sponsorship following the depreciation of the local currency against the foreign currency.
TNM Public Relations Officer and Sponsorship Manager Limbani Nsapato confirmed on Thursday that the company is looking into the matter.
Nsapato said TNM is aware of the staggering economy.
According to Nsapato, the company will engage Super League of Malawi (Sulom) for discussions since there is already a contract running between the two parties.
“We have a contract and we will sit down with Sulom and map the way forward” said Nsapato.
He however could neither deny nor confirm if the company will increase the sponsorship package.
He also disclosed that the company pumps in a lot of money apart from the actual K65 Million annual sponsorship.
The company among other things distributes kits to all the participating teams and ball boys, balls and other equipment to the referees, media and stewards.
During the 2013-14 season, TNM pumped in K104 Million while in the just ending soccer season, the company has spent over K125 million this is according to Nsapato.
Agood company with good vision anthu awa ndi amalawi tiyeni tiwasapote amalawi amzathu awa tnm alway with us
Good news TNM but the increase. Should benefit the winners of the league n the runners up
The champs should not get less then mk70 million as the expenses only to run a club is around mk40 million a season
