The additional classroom block will enable Tsanya to upgrade into a fully-fledged Primary School with the capacity to administer Standard 8 examinations. Prior to this, the school only accommodated classes 1 to 7.

Speaking at the handover ceremony in Dedza East, Mpamba Trust Fund Board Member Rev Dr Zacc Kawalala said Tsanya is one of the schools to benefit from a total investment of more than MK200 Million that the fund has channelled to community development projects in 2017.

“This investment is a fulfilment of the Mpamba Trust’s pledge to give back to communities and be a reliable partner for development. As TNM Mpamba, our commitment to partner people and communities across Malawi is real,” he said.

Kawalala said TNM Mpamba is a catalyst for socio-economic development in Malawi through partnerships with communities.

“Within the months of October and November, we have handed over projets in Mzimba – Ekwendeni CDSS, Mzuzu – St John’s Hospital, Blantyre – SOS School in Machinjiri, Phalombe – Thambe Primary and Mulanje – Mulanje Mission Hospital. As you can see, the Mpamba Trust team has been very busy, working to contribute to efforts of building a better Malawi,” he said.

“Over the years, Mpamba Trust has developed a track record as a socially responsible corporate citizen. We have actively played a role in partnering Government and the people of Malawi to provide assistance in key social sectors such as Education, Health, Food Security and Disaster Relief. This is a role we are comfortable carrying forward into the future and Malawians can always look up to Mpamba Trust as a true partner,” he said.

Member of Parliament for the area Julliana Lunguzi thanked TNM for considering the school in its Mpamba projects.

Opened in 1999, Tsanya Primary School has over 800 pupils.
