TNM’s Pasavute goes live: As trial excites customers

TNM has announced that its airtime credit facility, Pasavute, is ready to go live after a successful two-week trial.

The TNM Pasavute promotion allows its prepaid customers to borrow airtime and repay later whenever and wherever they are.

TNM Chief Commercial Officer Charles Kamoto said, with Pasavute comes the freedom and flexibility by TNM’s prepaid customers to access airtime and use their phones when and where they need it most.

“We are pleased to announce that Pasavute is ready after successfully undergoing product trials. Based on feedback from participating customers, they are excited that the airtime credit facility they had been waiting for, is finally here and working to their satisfaction,” he said.

Kamoto said Pasavute has excited the network’s prepaid customers who participated in the service’s trials between February 26 and March 14, 2014.

“Pasavute has been credited by our customers with giving them the freedom and convenience to make calls, send short messages (SMSs) and use internet services at all times. It is not all the time that our customers have money to buy air time credit therefore Pasavute provides relief in such desperate times,” Kamoto said.

The Chief Commercial Officer said during the trial period TNM received satisfactory feedback on the functionality and utility of Pasavute, noting the service has provided the ease of accessing airtime by prepaid customers.

Pasavute, which means ‘No worries’ in Chichewa, allows subscribers of TNM to purchase airtime in advance and pay the face value of the airtime voucher at a later stage. A subscriber can purchase one airtime voucher at a time and is charged a service fee per airtime voucher purchased.

TNM Pasavute gives customers an opportunity to borrow airtime and repay with a 10% service fee on their next recharge. TNM customers will have an opportunity to borrow based on their level of usage and recharge history and this will be determined automatically by an intelligent system.

A customer can purchase an airtime credit by dialling *600# from their TNM Malawi mobile phone or by sending an SMS with the word ‘PASAVUTE’ to 600.
