TNM’s Ufulu@50 promotion winner renovates school block in Kasungu

One of 50 winners in TNM’s Ufulu @ 50 promotions Chawanda Banda has renovated school block at Chasomba Primary in Kasungu District.

Banda  is one of the 50 TNM customers that won a total of K100 million in the Ufulu@50 promotion that TNM conducted in 2014 to celebrate with Malawians as the country commemorated 50 years of Independence.

Each of the winners was required to choose a social responsibility project of choice worth K2 million, translating to K100 million.

The school become the latest beneficiary of the K2 million worth of project from the promotion.

Banda said his choice to renovate the school block came after noticing the challenges that the school was facing due to lack of proper classrooms.

“On behalf of people from this community, let me commend TNM for this initiative which has not only benefit me as an individual but even the communities, it is my wish that our pupils are provided with good learning environment for them to excel,” said  Banda.

Chasomba Primary School deputy head teacher Samson Phiri thanked TNM for the support to the school.

“The block that TNM has renovated was in dilapidated state and was not providing good learning environment for our pupils but now our learners can afford a smile because most of ,” said Mwale.

Phiri said with over 1000 pupils the school has only 6 classrooms which force other learners to learn outside.

TNM’s regional finance manager Sumaice Musamaleke said the handover of the school block demonstrates the company’s commitment in fulfilling its promises to customers in Kasungu and the rest of the region.

“This is a life-changing promotion as prizes are going to worthy causes that will change the face of our communities. The current prize presentation phase demonstrates TNM’s commitment towards Corporate Social Responsibility and meeting its obligations under Ufulu@50 promotion,” he said.
