Wife hacks sleeping husband to death (graphic picture)
A man has been stabbed to death by his wife in Dwangwa, Nkhotakota on Tuesday after a domestic row, police said.
Nkhunga police publicist, Sergeant Labani Makalani said the incident occurred early morning on Tuesday December 27 in the area of Senior Chief Kanyenda.
Makalani said Aubrey Malikebu believed to be in his 30’s had quarrelled with the wife Sellina, 30 on Christmas day.
The wife got upset that her husband was making friends with different women and suspected he had an extra marital affair.
Sergeant Makalani said the wife is suspected to have woke up at night and stabbed the husband in his sleep using a panga knife.
She then set the house ablaze during early hours of December 27, 2011.
Police said the post-mortem results conducted at Matiki Health Centre shows that the man was hacked five times, twice on the head. He was also stabbed on the face, right shoulder and right arm.
The man died due to loss of blood and severe head injuries.
Malikebu and his wife Selina hail from Matipa Village in the area of Traditional Authority Mulumbe in Zomba district.
The woman could not be located by police.
